Even after a good night’s sleep, the furthest thing from my mind is a Workout In The Morning.
I’d much instead make a coffee and sip it on the deck, still sitting in my robe, relax, and then have breakfast. You would think that I, being rested from sleep, could bounce out of bed and be off for that workout in the morning.
It’s not as bad as I make it out to be. I do have a routine. I workout after work Monday to Friday and on Saturdays, I always tell myself I’ll work out in the morning, early.
[the_ad id=”564″]I mean, who doesn’t want to sleep in on the weekends and catch up on sleep time lost during the week? Eight hours of sleep, isn’t that what they say you need? I was surprised that after two years of consistent working out, I have a tough time getting motivated to hit the gym at times.
Through some hard lessons which left me with no motivation and no energy, I was able to figure out a routine to both motivate and leave me with energy to have a great workout in the morning. I call it my Saturday morning ritual to conjure my motivation and energy to workout in the morning.

I started doing what I felt I needed to do!
Coffee, Deck, Eat, Shower
Every Saturday morning, I make a coffee, sit on the deck and relax, and watch the dogs continue to wreck the yard. It’s a chance to clear my mind and sometimes think about things I need to figure out. It’s a peaceful place, the deck. When the last drop of coffee has passed my lips, I head in to make a nutritious breakfast, then shower, and off to Forged By Fire Crossfit, the most excellent place in the land!
