I started my fitness and nutrition journey just under two years ago; I was 53.
Fitness and nutrition weren’t on my mind so much. I thought about working out from time to time. I would purchase a year membership at the rec center to only go once in the year; I did this a few times. I always thought I was “fit,” I mean, I’m not a big guy, but my belly was getting bigger, and as we all know, it’s one of the most dangerous places to have body fat.
My friend, who was in her late forties at the time, had been going to a personal trainer for some time without seeing the results she wanted. It wasn’t until she was introduced to
Woman Strong at Forged by Fire Crossfit by her friend and work colleague, when she got excited. I didn’t understand her excitement.
I do understand it now. I have the same excitement.
My friend had been suggesting I check out her gym; I had no intention of doing that. I was busy with my full-time job, and I had a small home-based business I was running and Besides ……….
………. I was fit!
After a month or two, I noticed an ad on Facebook for a Men’s 30 Day challenge to get into shape at another gym. I decided to give the challenge a try. I was thinking back on the decision to try a different Crossfit gym; my friend must have thought WTF, makes me chuckle now. The challenge was a lot of fun, and I became excited about the workouts. After the challenge, I did join Forged By Fire, and it’s been awesome! I’ve even competed in competitions!
I’ll get started on another post right away. Please sign up for my newsletter to be notified when I publish a new post!
